IKO Kitchen Remodeling: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
A full IKO kitchen remodel in Dallas runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, and most projects we take on land between $18,000 and $32,000 once cabinets, counters, and finishes are specified. That is the straight number. If you already have IKO products in your kitchen and something has failed, or you are planning to build around them, we can source the correct IKO-compatible components, price every line item in writing before work begins, and have the job squared away without the surprises that usually come with remodel work.
How owners typically find us: a cabinet door has pulled loose from its hinge plate, a drawer slide stripped out, or a counter seam opened up after a few Dallas summers of heat and humidity cycling. Sometimes the finish is not the problem at all, the underlying substrate has swelled and it is pushing everything out of square. Curtis Lane and our crews have seen every version of this across Dallas kitchens, from Lakewood 1950s plaster walls to new-build boxes in the northern suburbs.
Bradford Remodeling Co Dallas is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with IKO. We install and work around IKO products, and we stock common IKO-compatible hardware and replacement parts on our trucks, but we speak as your local contractor, not as the manufacturer.
Which IKO Models This Applies To

IKO’s product line for kitchens runs through several families, and the compatibility story is not as simple as “one part fits all.” The larger IKO cabinets and millwork lines use different hinge geometry and drawer slide mounting specs depending on the series. If you have an IKO cabinet box from the last decade, you are most likely working with one of their framed cabinet lines, and the hinge cup diameter and screw spacing will tell us exactly what generation you have. Older IKO pieces use a 35mm hinge cup, which is standard, but the mounting plate offset varies, and that offset is where most “universal” replacement hinges go wrong.
Here is what to check before you call anyone: open the cabinet door, look at the hinge where it mounts to the cabinet frame. Measure the distance from the cabinet opening to the center of the mounting screw holes. That number, usually 0mm, 3mm, 6mm, or 9mm, is your overlay offset. IKO cabinets from different production years spec different offsets, and putting a wrong-offset hinge on an IKO door means the door will not close flat against the frame, it will sit proud by a few millimeters and bind at the handle side.
We keep OEM IKO hardware in the most common offsets on our trucks, and we can order exact replacements for older series. For the aftermarket question: on hinges and slides, a quality aftermarket equivalent (Blum, Salice, Grass) works as well as OEM, and we will tell you the part number we are using so you can verify it. For any IKO component with a visible finish, like a door front or a decorative end panel, always go OEM. The finish codes do not cross over to aftermarket, and a “close” stain match on an IKO door is not close, it is wrong. In a Dallas kitchen with strong natural light, that mismatch shows up from across the room.

Signs Your IKO Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Cabinet doors that swing open or won’t stay closed. This is almost always hinge fatigue. The IKO hinge plate has lost spring tension or pulled loose from the cabinet frame. In Dallas, the dry indoor air during summer cooling season accelerates the wood drying around the hinge screws, and the screws lose their bite.
- Drawers that drag, stick, or fall out of the track. The slide has bent, a ball bearing has collapsed, or the mounting clip snapped. IKO drawer slides are weight-rated, and once someone overloads a pan drawer with cast iron, the slide is done, not the drawer box.
- Visible swelling or discoloration along the cabinet base or counter edge. That is moisture in the substrate. In Dallas kitchens with slab foundations, a slow under-sink leak wicks up into the cabinet base and the bottom edges of the IKO cabinet sides. By the time the finish discolors, the substrate is already soft.
- Counter seams that have opened or lifted. IKO counter sections are joined at the seam with an adhesive that fails over time with thermal cycling. When the seam opens, water gets in, the substrate swells, and the counter has to come apart to fix it properly.
- Soft spots in the counter substrate around the sink or dishwasher. The IKO substrate is typically a fiberboard or particle core, depending on the series. Once it gets wet and swells, you cannot sand it flat again. The section has to be replaced.

DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: measure the hinge offset as I described above, check whether the hinge screws have stripped out of the cabinet frame, and look under the sink for any sign of a slow leak. That information helps us quote accurately over the phone.
What you should not do is attempt a full hinge or slide replacement on IKO cabinetry without knowing the exact series and offset. Wrong hardware will damage the door bore or the cabinet frame, and once the bore is wallowed out, the repair cost triples. Counter seam work is also not a handyman job, the adhesive has to be mechanically cleaned out of the joint, the substrate dried and stabilized, and the seam re-clamped under pressure. We handle all of it on the first visit. Call (903) 326-8963 and we will walk through the symptom with you, tell you what the likely fix costs, and schedule the estimate.
FAQs

In Dallas conditions, IKO cabinet boxes and frames typically last 20 to 30 years if the kitchen stays dry, while hinges and drawer slides last 10 to 15 years before they need replacing. The two things that shorten that span here are under-sink leaks and the indoor humidity swings between hot summers and heated winters.
Hinges and slides get replaced, not repaired, a worn slide or a dead hinge spring cannot be brought back. Cabinet frames with stripped screw holes can be repaired with dowel fill and the correct offset hardware, and counter seams can be re-glued if the substrate is still sound. If the substrate has swelled, the section is replaced.
Most hinge and slide swaps are done in one visit, four to six hours for a full kitchen. Counter seam repairs take one day, plus 24 hours before the counter is back in use. A full IKO kitchen remodel runs four to eight weeks depending on scope, and the schedule is written into your contract before the first tool comes out.
We stock common IKO hinge offsets, drawer slides, and mounting plates on our trucks, so most broken-door and drawer repairs are fixed on the first visit. For IKO door fronts, end panels, and finish-matched pieces, we order OEM from our supplier and the part typically arrives within one to two weeks. Call (903) 326-8963 with your cabinet measurements and we will tell you what is on hand and what is a lead-time item.
