Atlas Driveway & Pavers: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Atlas-compatible driveway and paver components across Dallas, with full paver driveway replacement running $7,000 to $18,000 and targeted paver repair or section replacement typically landing between $800 and $3,500 depending on square footage and base condition. Most Atlas paver failures show up the same way: a settled corner by the garage apron, a paver that’s cracked along the edge where car tires track, or joint sand washing out every time a Dallas gully-washer rolls through. You’ll usually spot it after a heavy rain, when one section dips and holds water while the rest of the driveway sheds it fine.
Which Atlas Models This Applies To

Atlas manufactures interlocking concrete pavers across three main series lines: the Holland/Classic 60mm, the permeable Axis series, and the larger-format Plaza slab style, all of which we’ve installed and repaired in Dallas neighborhoods from White Rock to Preston Hollow. The compatibility gotcha most owners miss: Atlas 60mm pavers are not interchangeable with the 80mm commercial paver used in some older Dallas driveways, and mixing them creates a lip that catches tires and frost heave. Check the paver’s underside. Atlas stamps a small code on the back of most units, though older Dallas installations may have worn it smooth, in which case we match by measuring the actual paver dimensions with a caliper before ordering. We install genuine Atlas units when the project calls for exact color and texture match, and we use Belgard or Unilock equivalents when Atlas stock in your color lot is discontinued, which happens more often than Atlas owners expect. Either way, you get a written line-item price before we touch the job.
We are an independent Dallas contractor, not an Atlas factory outlet or warranty center. That means we call the match straight: if an aftermarket paver matches your Atlas color and wear layer better than a genuine replacement would, we’ll tell you that and price both.

Signs Your Atlas Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Localized settling near the curb or garage apron. Dallas clay soil shrinks in August and swells in March, and a paver base that wasn’t compacted in lifts eventually gives way at the driveway’s edge, leaving a visible dip that pools water.
- Joint sand washing out after every rain. This is the earliest warning sign of base erosion. Once joint sand goes, water gets under the pavers, the base softens, and the pavers start moving independently of each other.
- Cracking along the tire track. A hairline crack in a single Atlas paver usually means the base below it has a soft spot, not that the paver itself failed. Replacing the paver without fixing the base buys you one Dallas season, maybe two.
- Pavers rocking underfoot or making a hollow click. That hollow sound is the paver lifting off an eroded base. Left alone, the edges chip, then the paver breaks, and a $300 repair becomes a $2,000 section rebuild.
- Faded, chalky surface that’s slick after rain. Atlas pavers have a wear layer that thins with years of Dallas sun. Once the surface turns chalky, it loses its slip resistance and will keep degrading until the top layer delaminates.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s what Atlas driveway and paver work costs in Dallas, installed:
- Paver repair, small section (up to 50 sq ft): $800 – $2,000
- Paver section rebuild (50 – 150 sq ft, includes base re-compaction): $2,000 – $4,500
- Paver driveway replacement (full tear-out and rebuild): $7,000 – $18,000
- Paver patio installation (new build): $3,500 – $11,000
- Driveway sealing with joint sand stabilization: $250 – $700
Every quote includes the paver units, new base material where needed, joint sand, edging, and haul-away of the old material. What drives the range is base depth, drainage correction, and whether the existing subgrade has failed to the point where we need to excavate and re-compact from scratch. Dallas homes built on expansive clay almost always need some base work, and we’d rather tell you that upfront than bury a change order in the middle of the job. That’s the Garrison Standard: written price, no numbers that move at the door, and every completed job backed by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the work fails inside that year, we come back and correct it at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself. Lift a loose paver and look at the base underneath: if you see bare clay or standing water, the base is gone. Check your joint sand: if you can push a screwdriver more than half an inch into the joint, water’s getting under the pavers. What we don’t recommend is the DIY path on anything involving heavy compaction, base excavation, or matching Atlas color lots. We’ve seen Dallas homeowners spend a full weekend resetting pavers by hand, only to have them sink again in the spring because the base was never the problem. The real issue was drainage, and drainage doesn’t fix itself with a rubber mallet and a bag of sand. If you want a straight number on what it’ll take to fix yours right, call (903) 326-8963 and we’ll come measure it.
FAQs

A properly installed Atlas paver driveway in Dallas lasts 20 to 30 years before the surface wear layer becomes an issue, but the base underneath is the thing that fails first, usually inside 10 to 15 years on Dallas clay if the original install didn’t include adequate compaction or drainage. Call (903) 326-8963 and we’ll check your base condition before recommending any paver replacement.
A cracked Atlas paver almost always signals a soft spot in the base below it, so while the single paver can be swapped, the repair won’t hold unless the base is re-compacted under that spot. We do single-paver replacements with base spot-repair, and we’ll give you a written price for that exact scope before we start.
A small paver repair section under 50 square feet is typically done in one day in Dallas, while a full driveway tear-out and rebuild runs 3 to 5 days depending on base depth and drainage work, plus a day for final compaction and sealing. We’ll put the schedule in writing as part of your quote.
We keep common Atlas Classic 60mm colors and the Axis series in ready supply through our Dallas suppliers, and we can special-order less common color lots when we need an exact match. We’ll confirm availability and lead time before we quote, so the number you get is the number the job costs.
