Master Halco Kitchen Remodeling: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
If your Master Halco kitchen components have failed, we stock and install Master Halco-compatible replacement parts across Dallas, with typical kitchen remodeling projects running $14,000 to $45,000 depending on cabinet run length, surface material, and whether we’re working around existing framing. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a cabinet face pulls loose at the hinge, a drawer slide binds mid-pull, or a section of counter substrate starts swelling at the seam. The good news is that a failed Master Halco installation rarely means a full gut. It means a specific part gave out, and we can match it, price it, and replace it without turning your kitchen into a construction zone for a month.
We are an independent Dallas contractor. We are not affiliated with Master Halco, but we work with their component specs every week and know exactly where their hardware tends to fail first in Texas humidity. If you’re holding a broken part or staring at a failed seam, this page will tell you what it costs, what’s involved, and whether it’s worth your Saturday.
Which Master Halco Models This Applies To

Master Halco’s kitchen line includes several cabinet series and hardware packages, and the one you have changes which replacement parts fit. The quickest way to identify what you’re working with: open the cabinet door and look for a small manufacturer label on the interior side panel, usually near the top hinge. That label carries a series code and sometimes a production date. If the label is worn off, measure the door overlay. Master Halco’s older Dallas-area installs from the mid-2000s used a 1/2-inch overlay door, while their newer lines moved to 1-1/4-inch full overlay, which changes the hinge cup depth and screw pattern. Getting that measurement wrong means ordering a hinge that won’t sit flush no matter how careful you are with the drill.
For OEM versus aftermarket: Master Halco branded hardware is fine and often the simplest call for a single failed hinge or glide. But on most Dallas remodels we replace drawer slides and hinges with quality aftermarket equivalents that meet or exceed the OEM weight rating, especially on pot-and-pan drawers that were under-specced from day one. A full-extension, soft-close undermount glide rated for 100 pounds will outlast the original in a Texan kitchen where drawers carry cast iron and Dutch ovens.

Signs Your Master Halco Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Cabinet door dropping at the corner. The hinge cup has wallowed out the screw holes in the particleboard stile, usually from years of opening against a heavy door. The hinge itself is rarely the failure; it’s the substrate giving up.
- Drawer sticks on one side or feels gritty mid-pull. The ball bearings in the slide have flattened or the nylon wheel delaminated. In Dallas humidity, cheap slides corrode faster inside unventilated cabinets near the dishwasher.
- Counter seam opening or darkening at the joint. Water has worked into the seam and started swelling the substrate underneath. This is the one that turns into a bigger repair if you wait, because once the substrate swells, the surface above it starts telegraphing the damage.
- Laminate edge peeling at the sink run. Constant splash exposure plus hot Dallas summers cycling the adhesive. Once the edge lifts, moisture walks in behind it and the problem spreads sideways.
- Hinges snapping shut with a clack instead of a soft close. The soft-close damper inside the hinge has blown its fluid seal. That part is replaceable on many Master Halco lines, but most homeowners don’t realize it until three doors are clacking.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

In Dallas, a full Master Halco kitchen remodel runs $14,000 to $45,000. The spread comes down to three things: linear feet of cabinetry, whether you’re replacing countertops and the substrate together or just resurfacing, and whether the existing box framing is sound enough to reuse. A small kitchen with new cabinet faces, hardware, and a laminate counter swap lands at the low end. A larger kitchen with new semi-custom boxes, solid surface counters, and a reworked island pushes toward the top.
| Scope | Typical Dallas Installed Range |
|---|---|
| Full kitchen remodel | $14,000 – $45,000 |
| Cabinet installation only | $4,000 – $13,000 |
| Countertop installation | $2,000 – $6,500 |
| Backsplash installation | $800 – $2,500 |
| Kitchen island installation | $3,000 – $10,000 |
Every line item is priced before we start, in writing, and that number does not move unless you change the scope. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the full installation: if anything we installed fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. That includes the parts, the labor, and the return trip.

If you’re replacing a single hinge or a drawer glide and the cabinet box is solid, that’s a reasonable weekend job if you have the right screwdriver and patience. The risk is wallowing out the existing screw holes, which turns a $40 part into a $300 cabinet stile repair. For anything involving counter substrate, seam failure, or cabinet boxes that have swelled from water, do not try to salvage it with caulk. Once substrate starts expanding, the fix requires cutting the damaged section out and rebuilding it. That is not a hand-tool job.
If the part is borderline and you’re not sure, call (903) 326-8963. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it’s a $40 DIY fix or something we need to put hands on. No charge for the answer.
FAQs

In Dallas’s heat and humidity cycle, you can expect 12 to 18 years from Master Halco cabinet hardware and surfaces before the first hinge, glide, or seam gives out. Kitchens near dishwashers or on unshaded south walls tend to fail on the earlier end of that range because the heat and steam do real work on adhesives and moving parts.
Yes, often. A blown soft-close damper, a delaminated edge, a wallowed hinge hole, and a sticking glide are all repairable without replacing the surrounding cabinetry. The exception is water-damaged substrate: once the particleboard or MDF has swelled, you cut it out and rebuild it, because sanding it flat just exposes more damaged material. Call (903) 326-8963 with a photo and we’ll tell you which category yours falls into.
A single hinge or drawer slide replacement takes an hour or less from shoe covers on to shoe covers off. A full hardware swap across a Dallas kitchen, meaning every hinge, glide, and soft-close damper, is typically a one-day job. If substrate repair is involved, add a day for the patch to set before we remount anything.
We carry common hinge sizes, undermount glides, soft-close dampers, and edge banding for Master Halco-style cabinets on our trucks, along with repair stock for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone installs. If your part is odd-sized, we source it and have it in hand before we schedule the install, so you’re not living with a cabinet face off its hinges while we chase a distributor.
