CertainTeed Fence Installation: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
CertainTeed fence installation in Dallas typically runs $3,500 to $9,000 for a full run, and Bradford Remodeling Co Dallas stocks most CertainTeed-compatible post, rail, and panel components with installation available within the week. Most Dallas homeowners discover a problem the same way: a post has shifted after heavy rain, a top rail has cracked at the joint, or a bottom panel has started separating from the rail after years of North Texas clay soil movement. The good news is that CertainTeed’s modular design means we rarely have to tear out an entire fence. We replace the failed component, re-set the post if needed, and get the line back to square.
We’re an independent Dallas contractor, not a CertainTeed dealer. We install, repair, and replace CertainTeed fence components alongside other documented brands. Every job gets a written price before we start, and the full year of coverage under our 365-Day Done Right Promise comes with it.
Which CertainTeed Models This Applies To

CertainTeed fencing splits into two main product families: the Boardwalk line, which mimics wood-grain pickets and rails, and the EverNew line, which is smooth cellular PVC and comes in multiple heights, most commonly 4-foot, 5-foot, and 6-foot panels. The compatibility gotcha Dallas owners hit most often is this: Boardwalk and EverNew rails are not interchangeable. A Boardwalk bottom rail will not seat correctly into an EverNew post, even if the outside dimensions look close. We always check the stamped model number on the inside of a post cap or the bottom face of a rail before ordering anything.
For panel posts, CertainTeed routes both lines with post walls thick enough to handle their steel post stiffeners, but the stiffener size changes by panel height. A 5-foot panel uses a shorter internal stiffener than a 6-foot panel, and you cannot cut one down to fit the other without voiding the point of having it. We keep common EverNew post, rail, and stiffener stock in our Dallas shop, and can typically source Boardwalk-specific trim and caps within a few days through our suppliers. OEM parts are the better call for posts and rails because the profile routing is precise. Aftermarket caps and post skirts are fine if the homeowner wants a different look, but we tell people straight: match the rail and post OEM, or don’t be surprised when the joint gaps in two years.

Signs Your CertainTeed Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean after rain. Dallas sits on expansive clay. When it rains, the top few feet of soil swell, and when it dries, it shrinks. A post set in a too-shallow hole or without enough concrete collar will lean a few degrees at a time until the top rail starts pulling out of the post pocket. The fix is a re-set with the right footing depth, not just straightening and hoping.
- Rail sag or separation at the post pocket. CertainTeed rails seat into routed post pockets. Over time, if the post has moved or if the panel was forced during a hot install, the rail end works loose. Left alone, the panel weight starts wearing the pocket wider, and then you’re replacing the post, not just re-seating the rail.
- Cracked bottom panel or chipped rail. These are impact failures, usually from a mower throwing a rock or a branch coming down in a storm. CertainTeed’s PVC is tough, but once a crack opens, water gets in, North Texas freeze-thaw cycles work on it, and the crack migrates. A clean panel swap stops it.
- Gaping or uneven panel seams. CertainTeed panels are designed to interlock tight. If you can see daylight through a seam, the panel was probably forced during a hot install, or a post has started rotating. Both are repairable. Neither is a “just live with it” condition.
- Chalky, lighter-colored patches on rails or panels. That’s UV oxidation, the number-one aging agent on PVC in Dallas. It is not a structural failure by itself, but after years of intense Texas sun, the outer layer gets brittle. If a patch is chalky, a hard impact in that area is more likely to crack it. We replace, then usually recommend a UV protectant if the fence is past its fifth summer.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For Dallas homeowners, a full CertainTeed fence installation on a typical 150 to 200 linear foot run lands between $3,500 and $9,000 installed. That’s the honest range. The spread comes down to a few things: panel height (6-foot runs cost more than 4-foot), the number of gates and corners, whether the line has to pull out old concrete footings, and what condition the existing posts are in. If the posts are still sound, you’re looking at rails and panels, and the price sits near the bottom of that range. If we’re pulling and re-setting posts in Dallas clay, the labor goes up with it.
Every quote includes parts and labor as one price. We write down the post count, the panel count, the rail footage, the number of bags of concrete if we’re setting posts, and the gate hardware. If we open the ground and find something nobody could see, we stop and show you before we spend another dollar. No moving numbers at the door. The work is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if a post shifts, a rail separates, or a panel cracks inside the first year through no fault of yours, we come back and fix it without charging you for the return. The only surprise on a Bradford job should be how smooth it went.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the straight answer. A homeowner can walk the line and check for loose rails, cracked panels, and posts out of level using a 4-foot bubble level and a little daylight. That’s worth doing, because the earlier you catch a shifted post, the cheaper the fix. Where DIY goes wrong on CertainTeed fence work is the post re-set. Getting a post out of North Texas clay, clearing the old concrete, and back-setting a new footing at the right depth is the difference between a fence that stands through next spring’s storms and one that leans again in six months. If the post has moved more than an inch or the rail has pulled out of the pocket, that’s a call.
If you’re in Dallas and you’ve got a rail that’s wiggled loose or a panel that’s cracked through, call us at (903) 326-8963. We’ll come out, tell you what’s actually wrong, and put the exact price in writing before we touch anything.
FAQs

Expect 20 to 30 years from properly installed CertainTeed PVC fence in the Dallas climate, with two caveats: footings need to be set deep enough for our expansive clay, and the material will show UV aging on the exposed faces after the first decade. Posts usually outlast rails. Rails usually outlast panels. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the first year, and after that, age and weather do what they do. Call (903) 326-8963 if you’re seeing early post lean or panel cracking, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s repairable.
A leaning post can be re-set if the post wall is still intact and the pocket routing is not worn. If the post has warped or the pocket has been wallowed out by a loose rail, replacement is the correct fix. We make that call on site, showing you what we’re seeing. Get an exact quote at (903) 326-8963.
Most full fence replacements in Dallas take two to three working days once materials are on site. A post re-set or a rail and panel swap on an existing line is usually done in a single day. We schedule around the weather because concrete footing work in Dallas clay does not mix with rain. Call (903) 326-8963 and we’ll give you a firm schedule with the written quote.
We stock common EverNew posts, rails, panel sections, and steel post stiffeners in our Dallas shop. Boardwalk-specific trim and caps usually take a few days through our suppliers. We also work with other documented brands, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone, so if the fence runs up against a project we’re already doing for you, one call to (903) 326-8963 covers it.
