PGT Construction in Sunnyvale, TX

PGT Construction in Sunnyvale, TX | Bradford Remodeling Co Dallas

We provide independent PGT window and door service across Sunnyvale, TX, without being owned by PGT or any manufacturer. What sets our PGT work in Sunnyvale apart is that we know this town’s soil, hail patterns, and older custom housing stock, and that shapes every repair and replacement we touch. From Eze-Breeze panel swaps to full WinGuard re-glazing, we work off written pricing and the 365-Day Done Right Promise. Call (903) 326-8963 for a free estimate.

Why Sunnyvale Residents Choose Us for PGT Service

Our crew has re-glazed, re-screened, and rebuilt hundreds of PGT windows and doors across Dallas County, so we know which PGT series hold up to Sunnyvale’s hail and soil movement and which seal designs fail first. We aren’t a manufacturer service line. We’re an independent PGT service provider, and that’s the only way to get an honest repair-versus-replace opinion. Curtis Lane, our owner, picked up his first framing hammer in a residential carpentry program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College before running crews across Dallas for close to two decades. When we install impact windows in Sunnyvale, we set them in stainless shims with a flexible perimeter seal because Curtis has seen too many otherwise good windows bind in this clay. We stock OEM PGT replacement parts, including balances, rollers, weatherstripping, and glass packs. Every project gets a written price before work starts. No re-pricing at the door.

Common PGT Construction Problems We Solve in Sunnyvale

Here’s what we actually see on PGT products in this part of Dallas County:

• WinGuard Aluminum frames pitting at the weep holes. Hail-driven moisture off Lake Ray Hubbard hits east-facing elevations hardest. The aluminum oxidizes around the weep holes first, and once those clog, water sits inside the frame and rots the sill. We clean out the weep holes, treat the corrosion, and replace damaged weatherstripping.
• SpectraGuard patio door rollers binding. Sunnyvale sits on Houston Black clay that expands more than 10% between dry and wet seasons. When the slab moves, the track torques out of square and the rollers bind. If the track is salvageable, we replace the rollers and re-shim the panel. If it’s twisted too far, we’ll tell you before touching anything else.
• Eze-Breeze vinyl glazing channels cracking from UV exposure. These channels get brittle in sustained Texas sun, and then a panel fogs or works loose. Single-panel replacement is almost always possible without pricing out a full room.
• WinGuard Vinyl sash corner welds splitting. Repeated high-wind cycles stress the welded corners. When they split, air leaks form around the interlock, and the window loses its design pressure rating. We can replace the sash or re-weld depending on the extrusion condition.
• Fogged insulated glass units. Once the laminated impact glass starts to separate or the interior seal fails, that unit is done. We re-glaze with an OEM or load-rated aftermarket glass pack.

PGT Service in Sunnyvale: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Sunnyvale sits on a band of Houston Black clay that expands more than 10% between dry and wet seasons, so PGT impact windows installed without a flexible perimeter seal and proper shim spacing will bind or crack within five years. That’s one of the first things we inspect on any service call here. Long Creek Road, Barnes Bridge Road, Collins Road, and the newer subdivisions off Highway 80 all sit in this soil profile, though the older custom homes with pier-and-beam foundations give us a few more options than the post-tension slabs. Our tech pulled three PGT WinGuard Vinyl single-hungs from a 1990s custom build off Long Creek Road because the sashes had bowed outward; the homeowners had never re-shimmed after the clay soil under the west wall settled. We reset the frames with stainless shims, replaced the cracked corner welds and weatherstripping, and re-glazed the fogged insulated units, restoring the original DP50 rating. The windows weren’t junk. The installation had simply not kept pace with the ground under them. That’s the difference between a Sunnyvale PGT specialist and a crew that installs windows the same way in every city.

PGT Models & Products We Service in Sunnyvale

We service the full PGT residential lineup: WinGuard Aluminum, WinGuard Vinyl, SpectraGuard, and Eze-Breeze. Our rule on parts is simple. We use OEM PGT replacement parts, including balances, rollers, weatherstripping, and glass packs, whenever they’re still available. For discontinued SpectraGuard hardware, we source tested aftermarket equivalents that match the original load ratings. We keep common WinGuard Vinyl and Aluminum parts stocked for fast turnaround in Sunnyvale, which means a single-hung sash or a broken roller doesn’t leave you waiting on a factory order. If an impact window is still square and the glass is intact, we repair rather than replace. Once the frame is racked or the laminate is delaminated, replacement is cheaper long-term. That’s the straight math we’ll show you before you spend anything.

FAQs – PGT Construction in Sunnyvale

Can you replace just the glass in my PGT WinGuard window, or do I need a whole new sash?

If the frame is square and the sash corners are intact, we can replace just the insulated glass unit without ordering a whole new sash. Once the sash itself is bowed, cracked at the welds, or the interlock no longer seats, we replace the sash. Call (903) 326-8963 and we’ll tell you which one applies to your window.

Does PGT’s impact rating still matter in Sunnyvale if I am not in a hurricane zone?

Yes. The same DP50-rated laminate and reinforced frame that stops hurricane debris also stops hail and wind-driven impacts that Dallas County sees every storm season. Sunnyvale homes near Lake Ray Hubbard get crosswinds that test window interlocks. If your home still has builder-grade double-pane units, an impact window is a real upgrade for storm season, not a coastal product that doesn’t fit here.

How do I know if my PGT SpectraGuard patio door has a roller problem or a track problem from slab movement?

Roller problems feel like a grind and the door still sits level. Track problems show up as a door that tilts or scrapes at one end, and the gap between the panel and the frame is wider at the bottom or top. On Sunnyvale’s clay, we usually find both, because the slab has moved enough to bend the track and then the rollers get torn up fighting it. We measure the track with a level before we quote anything.

Will you come out to Sunnyvale for a single damaged PGT Eze-Breeze panel, or do you only do whole-room projects?

We’ll come out for a single panel. Eze-Breeze glazing channels crack from UV and we can swap one panel, re-channel it, and have it sliding clean without pricing a whole porch enclosure. Call (903) 326-8963 for an exact quote; estimates are free.

Does Bradford Remodeling Co handle PGT warranty claims?

We are an independent PGT service provider, not a manufacturer-authorized warranty center, so we cannot file a PGT manufacturer claim on your behalf. We do document defects with photos and part numbers, and many Sunnyvale homeowners submit our written findings to PGT directly. Our own 365-Day Done Right Promise covers our labor and installation for a full year after we finish.
